Michael J. DeSantis is an associate with The Scali Law Firm's Litigation practice group. In this capacity, he defends clients against consumer claims, including lawsuits brought under the Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) and the Song-Beverly Act. Mr. DeSantis also has experience defending clients against personal injury claims and in contract disputes.
Prior to joining The Scali Law Firm, Mr. DeSantis gained initial litigation experience through clerkships with large public agencies. While clerking with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, Mr. DeSantis helped defend California’s largest city in numerous employment disputes. In other clerkships with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, Riverside County Public Defender’s Office, and the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, Mr. DeSantis assisted in pre-trial case development, presented evidence in jury and bench trials, and presented arguments in state court.
Mr. DeSantis’ work on behalf of automotive groups allows him to blend his lifelong love of automobiles with his passion for applying the law to assist clients in resolving complex matters. His positive interaction with clients reflects his previous employment experience with a prominent local automotive group.
A Southern California native, Mr. DeSantis earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law. He also graduated with a certificate in Dispute Resolution from the nation’s top-ranked Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. Mr. DeSantis also served as Business and Technical Editor for the Pepperdine Dispute Resolution Law Journal. Prior to law school, Mr. DeSantis graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor’s degree in Government/Pre-Law with specialized studies in Economics.
His interests include classic vehicle restoration (including a 1959 Ford F-100), attending automotive trade shows, tennis, and computer technology.
